January 2020 - Frederick explores the wonders of New Zealand for his on-site research for his upcoming adventure: Kiwis in the Land of the Silver Fern.

 

December 2019 - Frederick meets some Aboriginal friends during his holiday in Australia.  He was able to practice the didgeridoo, throwing the boomerang, fun dancing, and learning all about this unique culture up close and personal.  Diving the Great Barrier Reef and exploring the rain forest might just spur another book about this part of Australia.

July 2019 - Frederick visits Munich and Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany for some on-site research for his next adventure: Edelweiss and Gemütlichkeit.

July 2019 - Spin the Globe: The Incredible Adventures of Frederick von Wigglebottom -  Turtles of the Reef was selected as the WINNER in the Travel category Book Excellence Awards.

 

April 2016 - Spin the Globe: The Incredible Adventures of Frederick von Wigglebottom - Mysteries of Marrakech received critical acclaim and the coveted RECOMMENDED designation by the US Review of Books.  This book is bound to spark a sense of wanderlust in both a parent and child.

 

December 6, 2015 -  Red City Reviews gives Where the Earth Meets the Sky a 4-star review. "Moldenhauer is succeeding in bringing awareness to diverse nations that children are         bound to find enthralling."

 

December 1, 2015 - Spin the Globe: The Incredible Adventures of Frederick von Wigglebottom -  Turtles of the Reef was selected as the First Prize WINNER in the Young Adult Children's category in the Red City Review 2015 Book Award Contest. 

 

April 22, 2015 - The fifth edition in the series (Where the Earth Meets the Sky) about Nepal moves into manuscript formatting and illustration revisions. Planning a summer 2015 release.

 

April 10, 2014 - Spin the Globe: The Incredible Adventures of Frederick von Wigglebottom - Turtles of the Reef received critical acclaim and the coveted RECOMMENDED designation by the US Review of Books.  This story is a jewel in Moldenhauer's clever series.

 

April 5, 2015 -  Red City Reviews gives Turtles of the Reef a 5-star review. "We love this book series and we think you will too!"

 

March 5, 2105 - Ed spends some time with Drs. Rob and Janelle Alex of Authors Talk About It discussing the book series, becoming an author, being a parent and Turtles of the Reef.  The podcast is available to listen to under the Media Info button.

  

December 30, 2014 - Frederick's fourth adventure entitled Turtles of the Reef takes him to the island paradise of St George's Caye in Belize and is now available.

 

December 12, 2014 - Frederick's third adventure entitled Alpacas in the Andes takes him to the ancient Incan city of Cusco, Peru and is now available.

 

November 7-9, 2014 - 2014 California Library Association (CLA) 116th Annual Conference; Be the Change in Oakland, CA highlights Dreamtime in Alice Springs.

 

November 5-8, 2014 - 2014 New York Library Association (NYLA) Conference; Open Libraries Open Minds in Saratoga Springs, NY will have my book on display.

 

November 3, 2014 - Featured as Author's Spotlight on www.becausereading.com.

 

October 23, 2014 - Port FM from New Zealand does a live "on the air" interview with Ed regarding the series, the origin of Frederick's name and how children through these adventures can explore the world without ever leaving home.  The audio file of the interview is nested under Media Info.

 

October 14, 2014 - The fourth book in the series, Turtles of the Reef moves into production.

 

October 10, 2014 - The third book in the series, Alpacas in the Andes moves into the illustration phase of production.

August 26, 2014 - Frederick receives his first Royal mail! A special Thank You note directly from Kensington Palace.  A copy of Dreamtime in Alice Springs was mailed to Prince William and Princess Kate as a first birthday gift for Prince George.

July 14, 2014 - An exciting day for Frederick.  Articles about his adventures were posted from Australia and the Philippines to Maine. Frederick is truly becoming "international".

April 25, 2014 - Frederick's second adventure entitled Fjords, Vikings and Reindeer takes him to beautiful Trondheim, Norway is now available.

 

April 11, 2014 - Great news, the e-book version of Spin the Globe: The Incredible Adventures of Frederick von Wigglebottom - Dreamtime in Alice Springs is now available.

Book Readings

 

July 2019 - a great day sharing Frederick's adventures with the youngsters at the Ace's Tennis program at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  This was Frederick's third appearance with these engaged future tennis stars.  This sessions theme was "Aspirations".

 

April 11, 2018 - A fun afternoon sharing Frederick's Adventures with the University of Delaware's Student Literacy Council and the children of the West End Neighborhood Center in Wilmington, Delaware. 

 

May 14, 2015 - Ed will be spending the evening at Roberta Tipps Elementary in Mansfield, Texas to support Family Literacy Night.  He will be reading to parents and children from his four currently publisghed titles and an excerpt from the upcoming Nepal adventure. Ed will also be available that evening for a book signing.

 

February 10, 2015 - Ed spent the day at Janet Brockett Elementary in Arlington, Texas to support "Spin the Globe" day. He will be reading to younger (K-2) students from a hybrib of his books and discussing what is takes to become an author to the older (Grades 3 & 4) students. Ed will also be available that evening for family reading and book signings.

 

May 29, 2014 - Ed will be visiting the Burleson, Texas Public Library to read Dreamtime in Alice Springs at Family Story Time.  Bring the kids out for a great time!

 

May 22, 2014 - Ed will be visiting the kindergarten and first grade students of J. L. Boren Elementary School in Mansfield, Texas at 2:00pm to read Frederick's adventure Dreamtime in Alice Springs. This will surely be a fun event!

 

May 29, 2014 - Ed will be visiting the Burleson Public Library at 10:45am to read Frederick's adventure Dreamtime in Alice Springs at Story Time for local four and five year olds. Bring your little ones out for a fun event!

 

Events

November 9-11, 2017 - Phoenix, AZ hosted the American Association of School Librarians annual meeting "Beyond the Horizon."  Frederick's Belizean adventure was on display.

 

January 30 - February 3, 2015 - In the "windy city", stop by the American Library Association's Midwinter Meeting.  Frederick's Australian adventure will be on display.
